Mechanical Supervisor – Processing Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a fully mechanised underground operation. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead the mechanical team in the processing plant, ensuring high availability and safe operation of all plant equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control mechanical refurbishment and maintenance activities to meet plant availability targets.
• Lead a team of mechanical fitters, fabricators and boilermakers, issuing work orders and coordinating daily breakdown work.
• Generate work requests in SAP for maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Implement condition monitoring routes, collect vibration and other data, and diagnose rotating machinery issues.
• Participate in root‑cause failure analysis and continuous improvement programmes.
• Identify and propose cost‑reduction initiatives and savings projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical supervision within a processing plant or similar industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary mechanical team and coordinate with contractors.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.

Required skills

• SAP for work request creation and maintenance planning.
• Condition monitoring of rotating equipment.
• Vibration analysis and data collection using portable tools.
• Root‑cause failure analysis.
