Mechanical Supervisor – Processing Plant

About the role

The Mechanical Supervisor – Processing Plant is responsible for overseeing the refurbishment and maintenance of structural, mechanical, plate and pipe works within the processing plant. The role ensures high plant availability, safety and cost‑effectiveness while supporting the transition from project to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control output of mechanical refurbishment projects to meet quality and safety standards.
• Lead a team of mechanical fitters, fabricators and boilermakers, issuing work orders and handling breakdowns.
• Generate and schedule work requests in SAP PM for maintenance and refurbishment planning.
• Conduct condition monitoring of rotating equipment using portable data collectors and vibration analysis.
• Participate in root‑cause failure analysis and continuous improvement programmes.
• Identify and propose cost‑reduction initiatives and oversee contractor coordination.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance Management.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a metallurgical processing plant.
• Sectional Engineer’s Certificate of Competency from the Mineral Commission of Ghana.
• Experience managing maintenance and repair contracts (MARC) and using SAP PM.
