Mining Engineer – Project Execution

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Mining Engineer to join the Projects department at the Obuasi Gold Mine. The role focuses on implementing mining designs, development strategies, and production processes safely and cost‑effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project execution activities within assigned underground mining blocks and ensure clear communication between engineering and operational teams.
• Develop and maintain project planning documentation, risk assessments, and work instructions to support safe delivery.
• Plan daily, weekly and monthly mining activities, providing progress updates and aligning schedules with contractors and operational staff.
• Design engineering deliverables such as drill designs, charge plans, and supporting infrastructure documentation.
• Contribute technical input to pre‑feasibility, feasibility and definitive studies and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• BSc or Diploma in Mining Engineering (or equivalent) with a valid Ghanaian manual driver’s licence.
• Two to three years of operational experience in an underground mining environment, including mine planning and exposure to project‑focused roles.
• Demonstrated safety leadership and ability to work underground and travel between work areas.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Deswik CAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
