Operator – Vent Fans & Fridge Plant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Operator to run the primary vent fans and fridge plant at our Obuasi surface mine infrastructure. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will ensure safe, compliant operation of KMVS, CAT 300, BVS fans and the associated refrigeration system.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily pre‑start checks on all equipment and tools before leaving the workshop.
• Operate primary vent fans (KMVS, CAT 300, BVS) and the fridge plant in accordance with Ghanaian government and AGAG regulations.
• Monitor short‑interval measures, report any anomalies and coordinate with maintenance trades.
• Interface with contractors and construction teams for refurbishment and planned works.
• Provide data to the Maintenance Planner and create/close work orders in SAP.
• Adhere to the site Environmental Management Plan and health‑safety legislation.

Required profile

• Senior High School Certificate and a recognised trade apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds).
• At least five years of post‑apprenticeship experience in a related mechanical trade.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.

Required skills

• Operation of KMVS, CAT 300 and BVS vent fans.
• Fridge plant operation and monitoring.
• Use of SAP for work‑order creation and closure.
