Organic Nut Field Officer

About the role

The Savannah Fruits Company (SFC) is looking for a full‑time Organic Nut Field Officer to support its organic shea nut supply chain in Sawla‑Tuna, Ghana. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work directly with smallholder cooperatives to ensure high‑quality, certified organic nuts are sourced, processed and documented.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase high‑quality organic shea nuts from SFC’s certified network.
• Monitor collection, handling, bagging, weighing and labeling to maintain organic integrity.
• Track and report weekly local market prices for shea nuts.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure proper storage and transport without contamination.
• Maintain documentation and submit regular operational reports.
• Build and sustain relationships with community leaders, women’s groups and producer cooperatives.
• Identify, train and certify local suppliers on organic, Fair for Life and ISO 22716 standards.
• Deliver training sessions on organic collection practices, ethical standards and good manufacturing practices.
• Perform field assessments for certification compliance and prepare audit documentation.
• Promote gender equity and economic empowerment within the shea supply chain.

Required profile

• Experience working with smallholder agricultural groups or cooperatives.
• Familiarity with organic, Fair for Life and ISO 22716 certification requirements.
• Ability to travel regularly to field sites and manage logistics.
• Strong communication skills for community training and stakeholder engagement.
