Partnerships Officer (Resource Mobilization)

About the role

The Partnerships Officer (Resource Mobilization) will be based in the FAO Regional Office for Africa in Accra. The role focuses on strengthening and fostering partnerships with non‑state actors, especially private‑sector entities, to support FAO’s strategic framework and regional food‑security priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with NGOs, private‑sector companies, and inter‑governmental organisations.
• Provide policy support and share best practices on transformative partnerships.
• Monitor partnership activities, track results and report to internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee implementation of FAO’s Strategies for Partnerships with Civil Society and Private‑Sector Engagement at regional and national levels.
• Identify synergies between non‑state actors and FAO’s strategic objectives, and promote South‑South and triangular cooperation.
• Guide decentralized offices on corporate requirements related to non‑state‑actor partnerships.
• Execute the annual work plan covering priority activities with non‑state actors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in partnership development and resource mobilisation within an international or development context.
• Strong understanding of FAO’s mandate, Strategic Framework 2021‑2030, and regional food‑security priorities.
• Ability to provide policy advice, monitor partnership performance and produce clear reports.
• Excellent communication and networking skills with NGOs, private sector and IGOs.
