Procurement Officer

About the role

The Ghana National Association of Teachers is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage the acquisition of goods, services and works in line with its policies and the Public Procurement Act. The role ensures transparent, cost-effective procurement supporting the Association’s objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual procurement plans aligned with organisational needs and budgets.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs and invitations to tender.
• Maintain transparent, competitive and compliant procurement processes.
• Identify, evaluate and pre‑qualify suppliers and service providers.
• Draft, review and manage procurement contracts and service level agreements.
• Ensure compliance with the Public Procurement Act, internal policies and donor requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation for audit and regulatory review.
• Update supplier database, vendor performance records, procurement registers and contract files.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIPS or equivalent (advantageous).
• 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Knowledge of Ghanaian procurement laws and procedures.
• Experience in a unionised or non‑profit organisation is an advantage.
