Programme Manager – Brighter Futures Programme

About the role

The Sabre Trust is a development organisation collaborating with Ghana’s education authorities to scale up quality kindergarten education. The Programme Manager will oversee the Brighter Futures programme components, ensuring delivery aligns with national education plans.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Building Better Schools and Transformational Teacher Training components, coordinating with dedicated project managers.
• Identify programme priorities and work with the Ghana Education Service to select beneficiary schools and communities.
• Approve budgets, resource plans and implementation programmes, and sign off all project reporting.
• Ensure robust monitoring and evaluation processes and analyse project impact with partners.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Ghana education policy and liaise with GES headquarters.
• Manage relationships with corporate partners and support the Programme Director in recruiting new partners.
• Line‑manage the project management team, monitor progress, evaluate performance and chair monthly meetings.
• Oversee financial accounting, approve monthly budgets and review annual accounts for Programme Director approval.
• Communicate programme developments to staff and improve internal knowledge‑sharing systems.
• Collaborate with the UK fundraising team to explore new funding opportunities and contribute to proposals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum five years of project‑management experience in the education sector.
