Project Officer - FMNR Heritage Project

About the role

The Project Officer will support the implementation of World Vision’s Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) Heritage Project in Ghana. Working closely with community structures, government partners and technical teams, the officer will help restore landscapes, improve livelihoods and build climate resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field‑level activities and ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards and budget.
• Facilitate training and awareness sessions for farmers, faith leaders and community members on FMNR and environmental stewardship.
• Provide technical back‑stopping on FMNR, soil and water conservation, and natural resource management.
• Support the establishment and management of demonstration plots, farmer learning groups and community learning hubs.
• Strengthen partnerships with traditional leaders, government agencies (e.g., Forestry Commission, MoFA) and NGOs.
• Engage church and faith networks to promote FMNR as a faith‑based response to environmental stewardship.
• Represent World Vision Ghana in district and regional climate resilience coordination platforms.
• Identify and pursue resource opportunities, contribute to concept notes, proposals and budgeting.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating development or environmental projects at community level.
• Proven ability to mobilise and strengthen community capacity.
• Strong partnership‑building skills with government, NGOs and faith‑based organisations.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• Commitment to World Vision’s integrated programming model and donor standards.
