Purchasing Specialist (Entry Level)

About the role

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services required for the smooth operation of the organization. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships and complying with company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers in line with organizational requirements.
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and related documentation.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions to achieve cost savings.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services and resolve supply-related issues.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with user departments to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Verify goods received against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and contracts.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost‑effective alternatives.
• Support audits by providing required procurement documentation and reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Experience working with ERP or procurement systems is desirable.
