Reporter – Ghana and West Africa

About the role

Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced, energetic reporter to cover Ghana and West Africa, with a focus on the Sahel. You will work with a global team to deliver breaking news and in‑depth business analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Cover daily breaking news from press briefings, media statements and credible sources.
• Pitch and write stories that give business readers a better understanding of Ghana and West Africa.
• Develop government, political, industry and other sources to produce exclusive stories.
• Take the lead in writing or editing copies from freelance correspondents across the region.
• Explore multiple formats such as long‑form articles, charts or video packages.

Required profile

• At least five years of experience in journalism, preferably in financial and business reporting.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and French.
• Proven ability to write clean, clear and accurate stories on deadline.
• Knowledge of financial markets, the economy and corporate operations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and demonstrated career growth.

Required skills

• Strong network of sources in Ghana and West Africa.
• Understanding of government policy‑making processes.
• Comfort with using technology and new tools for reporting.
