Safety Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Safety Manager to lead health and safety initiatives at our manufacturing plant. The role involves developing policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve safety management systems in line with Ghanaian occupational health and safety laws and international HSE standards.
• Lead safety training programs to raise employee awareness and emergency preparedness.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage procurement, inspection and maintenance of safety equipment.
• Prepare regular safety performance reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with department heads to embed safety measures into daily operations and strategic planning.
• Serve as primary liaison with regulatory authorities, ensuring timely documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of safety management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, hazard identification and accident prevention.
• Proven experience in safety audits, compliance reporting and regulatory liaison.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
