Security Co-ordinator

About the role

The Security Co-ordinator will lead the hospital’s security unit, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This senior position oversees daily operations, training, and compliance with security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct and control security personnel and activities.
• Ensure guards and watchmen are properly trained and positioned.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of all security locations.
• Develop and implement training programmes for security officers.
• Investigate incidents such as theft, pilfering, and assaults, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
• Submit routine reports to the Director of Administration and develop annual plans and budgets.
• Formulate internal rules, oversee performance appraisals, and promote best security practices.
• Educate hospital staff on security matters and enforce compliance with standing orders.

Required profile

• First degree in Psychology, Management, or related field with safety and security training, or former security officer not below Chief Inspector rank.
• Maximum age of 45 years.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Health security policies, hospital administrative procedures, and health‑safety standards.
• Strong leadership, motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
