Security Engineer Intern – Early Contributor

About the role

Join a fast‑growing fintech team in Accra and help keep digital payments safe. You will work on improving security systems, testing for vulnerabilities, and fostering a security‑first mindset across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct security assessments and penetration testing on web applications and infrastructure.
• Monitor systems for threats, anomalies and respond to security incidents.
• Review code and infrastructure for security risks and implement controls.
• Help shape security policies and contribute to a culture of secure development.

Required profile

• Understanding of web application security fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Linux, networking concepts and cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerabilities.
• Enthusiasm for learning and ability to work in a remote, collaborative setting.

Required skills

• Security assessment and penetration testing tools.
• OWASP Top 10 knowledge.
• Linux command‑line proficiency.
• Networking basics.
• Cloud security basics (AWS, GCP).
• Security certifications (CEH, OSCP, CompTIA Security+) – optional.
