About the role

The University is looking for a dynamic, self‑motivated Senior Accounting Assistant to join its finance team in Koforidua. The role involves handling core accounting functions, ensuring accuracy of financial records and supporting the university’s financial operations.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and present statements of accounts on a regular basis.
Compile and reconcile bank statements to ensure consistency with ledger entries.
Check and verify current accounts, identifying discrepancies and proposing corrective actions.
Handle relevant correspondence related to financial matters.

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or an HND in Accountancy.
Minimum four (4) years of experience as an Accounting Assistant in a university or comparable institution, or two (2) years with a professional qualification such as CA, CIMA, ACCA.
Completion of national service.
Strong judgment, responsibility, initiative and discretion.
