Senior Accounting Officer

About the role

As a Senior Accounting Officer at Shalina Healthcare Ghana, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, compliance and timeliness of the company’s financial records and reporting. You will lead financial reporting, ledger scrutiny, internal controls and audit readiness while driving continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and perform detailed ledger analysis.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, ensuring completeness and integrity of all accounting records.
• Conduct internal audits, identify control gaps and track implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure statutory compliance with Ghanaian tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT, PAYE and corporate tax filings.
• Assist the Finance Manager with external audit coordination, preparing schedules and supporting documents.
• Manage relationships with government agencies, tax authorities, banks and other financial institutions.
• Train, mentor and review the work of junior finance team members.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow monitoring and ERP/system implementation projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, ICA Ghana, CIMA, CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior accounting role.
• Experience in the healthcare or related industry is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, ledger analysis and account reconciliation.
• Experience with internal audit processes and audit coordination.
• Ability to work with ERP systems and support finance transformation initiatives.
