Senior Internal Audit Assistant

About the role

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) is seeking a motivated Senior Internal Audit Assistant to support its internal audit function. The role involves applying accounting and audit expertise to ensure compliance, accuracy, and integrity of financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits of financial and operational activities in accordance with established standards.
• Prepare audit reports, highlight findings, and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow‑up on corrective measures.
• Assist in developing audit plans, risk assessments, and testing procedures.
• Collaborate with senior management to promote ethical standards and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Professional teacher at least at the rank of Assistant Director 1 with a minimum of 4 years experience in that rank.
• At least 3 years experience as a Senior Auditing Assistant.
• First‑degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline.
• Age between 25 and 35 years at the time of appointment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and auditing practice, with high attention to detail and ethical conduct.
