Senior Manager, Core Network Planning and Engineering

About the role

MTN Ghana is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the planning and engineering of its converged core networks for voice, data and digital services. You will ensure the network is secure, cost‑effective, scalable and resilient across 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and Home Broadband technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a 5‑year strategic core network design aligned with business growth forecasts.
• Translate subscriber growth targets into capacity and architecture requirements.
• Maintain timely capacity, functionality and QoS across all core nodes.
• Oversee performance monitoring, reporting and optimisation initiatives.
• Manage departmental budgets, CAPEX/OPEX planning and cost‑optimisation projects.
• Ensure compliance with licences, software upgrades and global IT standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver network deployments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in core network planning and engineering within a telecom environment.
• Strong understanding of multi‑technology networks (2G‑5G, Home Broadband).
• Ability to translate business plans into technical designs and capacity models.
• Experience managing budgets, CAPEX/OPEX and vendor relationships.
