Senior Production Operator

About the role

The Senior Production Operator will ensure that all processing equipment operates efficiently to maximise gold recovery at the Iduapriem Gold Mine. You will be responsible for daily equipment readiness, supporting milling operations and maintaining safe plant conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑start equipment checks at the beginning of each shift and report any defects.
• Charge steel balls into mills to sustain effective milling and throughput.
• Assist with housekeeping tasks such as cleaning liners, removing scrap, and emptying dustbins in the CIL plant.
• Operate and control thickeners and coordinate flocculant mixing plant activities with control‑room operators.
• Maintain flocculant powder supplies and keep mixing hoppers filled for continuous operation.
• Apply safe work procedures, report accidents, incidents and near‑misses, and ensure environmental compliance.

Required profile

• Relevant education (HND, GCE O/A level, SSCE, Mechanical/Electrical Technician qualifications, or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• 1‑3 years of experience in a gold processing plant.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and a commitment to safety.
• Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with diverse teams.
