Senior SHEQ Officer

About the role

The Senior SHEQ Officer will support the Sales Area West – Anglophone Territories, ensuring that Sandvik’s safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) practices comply with global standards and ISO management systems. The role focuses on maintaining and improving the SHEQ management system, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Sandvik SHEQ policy and alignment with the strategic direction of the Sales Area.
• Periodically review the SHEQ management system for suitability, adequacy and relevance.
• Document, implement and maintain SHEQ management at all organizational levels.
• Apply Sandvik EHS Global procedures and major hazard standards, driving continual improvement.
• Identify, assess and control workplace risks and environmental impacts.
• Plan and execute SHEQ audits, including preparation of the annual audit plan.
• Monitor internal audits, resolve deviations and ensure corrective actions.
• Provide SHEQ training for workers.
• Conduct audits and inspections of suppliers and subcontractors when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SHEQ management within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Ability to lead audits, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to train personnel.
