Senior Specialist – Mining Projects

About the role

Support the safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of underground infrastructure and capital projects at the Obuasi Gold Mine. The role ensures project scopes, designs, schedules and construction are integrated with operational and strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate mining construction drawings for infrastructure, installations and upgrades.
• Coordinate planning, review and execution tracking of underground capital projects, integrating designs into Deswik systems.
• Maintain and update mine services and reticulation line drawings.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and cost performance, providing updates to stakeholders.
• Support project engineering through knowledge sharing, mentoring and participation in project reviews.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in underground mining with exposure to infrastructure or project‑focused roles.
• Ability to work underground and maintain a minimum 30% underground presence.
• Physically fit to meet site medical and functional capacity requirements and hold a valid Ghanaian manual driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficient in Deswik CAD (and Deswik Scheduler preferred).
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for planning discussions and documentation.
