Shift Charge Engineer – Cryogenic Storage & NGL Loading Terminal

About the role

The Shift Charge Engineer is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of a cryogenic storage and NGL loading terminal. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the engineer ensures that natural gas liquids are stored and distributed in compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate transportation and storage of natural gas liquids, supervising truck loading and terminal activities.
• Investigate operational incidents, develop corrective actions and log all information in the CMMS.
• Perform control‑room switching and isolation processes, monitor daily readings and conduct routine equipment inspections.
• Maintain process safety management documentation (EIS, PSM, MOC) and keep plant hazard analysis up to date.
• Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs to avoid unplanned shutdowns.
• Assist in preparing permits‑to‑work, purchase orders and service agreements for operational consumables.
• Develop training plans, conduct performance appraisals and manage rotational schedules for subordinate staff.

Required profile

Required skills

• Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for incident logging and work order tracking.
• Control‑room operations, including switching and isolation procedures.
• Process Safety Management (EIS, PSM, MOC) and hazard analysis.
• Experience with HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) reviews.
• Predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Routine equipment inspection and abnormal condition detection.
• Preparation of permits‑to‑work and regulatory documentation.
