Sonographer – Full-time

About the role

Lapaz Community Hospital is seeking qualified Sonographers to join its diagnostic imaging team. The role involves delivering high‑quality ultrasound examinations to support patient care in a busy urban hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a range of sonographic examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, vascular and musculoskeletal scans.
• Prepare patients, explain procedures and ensure comfort and safety throughout the examination.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and hospital protocols.
• Document findings accurately and produce preliminary reports for review by physicians.
• Collaborate with radiologists, obstetricians and other clinicians to discuss results and recommend further imaging when necessary.
• Participate in quality‑assurance activities and adhere to infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• BSc in Sonography.
• Valid PIN and registration with the Allied Health Professional Council.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in a clinical setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating diagnostic ultrasound machines.
• Ability to acquire and interpret standard sonographic images.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
