Supervisor – Welding (Mining Plant)

About the role

The Supervisor – Welding will lead welding, fabrication and maintenance activities at the Iduapriem Gold Mine crushing plant. This full‑time position ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant equipment while supporting overall plant availability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and direct daily welding, fabrication and structural maintenance tasks for routine operations, project installations and plant shutdowns.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of boilermakers, fitters and contract welders, monitoring work quality, productivity and attendance.
• Enforce Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) protocols, conduct Job Safety Analyses and manage Hot Work permits to achieve zero‑harm operations.
• Perform pre‑weld visual inspections, verify fit‑up alignment, monitor welding parameters and coordinate Non‑Destructive Testing (dye penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic).
• Interpret engineering drawings, structural blueprints, piping schematics and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising welding and fabrication teams in an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements and ability to conduct safety analyses.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
