Survey Assistant

About the role

The Survey Assistant will support mine surveyors and leading hands in delivering accurate surveying tasks at the Iduapriem Gold Mine. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in pit face staking, stockpile surveys, and drone‑based ground control work within a safety‑focused mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily pit face pick‑ups and staking of TBMs on mining faces.
• Support staking out pit designs, ore mark‑outs, and survey points for geology exploration and RC grade control drilling.
• Conduct stockpile surveys as required.
• Participate in farm surveys and line‑cutting projects.
• Help set out ground control points for drone flights.
• Work safely, accurately, and collaboratively while supporting senior survey staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Surveying or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• 1–3 years of experience in mine surveying or a similar environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to operate a light vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficiency with total station and GPS survey equipment.
• Knowledge of UAV (drone) operations for ground control surveys.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Access for data management.
