System Administrator – Webhosting & Network Operations

About the role

We are seeking a System Administrator to manage our web‑hosting, ISP and LAN infrastructure for Africa Online Ghana Ltd. The role involves overseeing servers, network services and providing high‑quality support to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage internet applications such as DNS, RADIUS, LDAP, Apache, Postfix, MySQL and PHP.
• Design, configure, install and maintain hardware including clustered, blade and VMware servers, as well as RAID and SAN storage solutions.
• Provide superior customer support for web‑hosting, ISP and LAN clients, handling escalated issues.
• Document server configurations, scripts and related information in a shared repository.
• Collaborate with the Network Operations Centre to monitor system reliability and traffic patterns.
• Install or rebuild servers, configure services, directories and storage according to standards.
• Administer user accounts, implement security tools and perform regular backups and software updates.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years working experience in system administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related diploma; certifications in Linux and Microsoft are a plus.
• Knowledge of company policies, products and services, as well as operating systems, web technologies and hardware.
• Strong time‑management and organizational abilities.
