Technical Sales Engineer – Industrial Solutions

About the role

IDL Africa Technologies is looking for a technically strong Technical Sales Engineer to promote and sell industrial automation and control solutions across West and Central Africa. The role combines consultative sales with engineering support to help customers improve efficiency, safety and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts in the industrial sector.
• Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, utilities, EPC contractors, system integrators, consultants and government agencies.
• Conduct site visits, technical surveys and assessments to understand customer challenges.
• Prepare technical proposals, system architectures, quotations and tender documents.
• Deliver presentations, product demos and solution workshops to customers.
• Collaborate with engineering and project delivery teams to ensure successful implementation and commissioning.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to uncover new opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in technical sales or business development within industrial automation, process control or industrial engineering.
• Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, control architectures and technical specifications.
