Website Developer – E-commerce

About the role

This role oversees the digital presence and online sales platform for the Loozeele Initiative, which supports products made by Kayayei participants. It aims to improve the user experience on the e-commerce site and drive sales through digital marketing, acting as a bridge between the organisation's mission and its online revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the creation and upkeep of the e-commerce site so customers have a smooth, intuitive shopping experience.
• Curate and update product catalogs, including descriptions and images, to accurately showcase items made by Kayayei artisans.
• Partner with communications and marketing to run digital strategies that increase traffic to the online store.
• Design and launch promotions such as sales events and discount codes.
• Use analytical tools to monitor site performance, user engagement and sales, and produce periodic performance reports.
• Work with vocational training and education teams to make sure product details and initiatives are reflected correctly.
• Align online sales with the broader goals of the Loozeele Initiative.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in E-commerce, Marketing, Business or a closely related field.
• Track record of managing online retail platforms; experience in non-profit or socially responsible sectors is preferred.
• Solid grasp of digital marketing principles and online promotional tactics.
• Strong organisational ability and capacity to manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of e-commerce systems such as Shopify or WooCommerce.
