Welder

About the role

The Welder will join GTS Drilling’s on‑site team in the Adansi North District, performing welding tasks on drilling equipment, structures and components. This full‑time position supports continuous mineral drilling operations through fabrication, repair and maintenance of metal parts.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair and maintain metal parts of drilling equipment according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Inspect components for wear or damage and carry out corrective welding work.
• Operate MIG, TIG and stick/arc welding tools and related equipment safely.
• Prepare materials, set up welding stations and ensure a clean, safe work area.
• Collaborate with mechanics, drillers and site supervisors to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow company safety policies and complete required documentation for all repair activities.

Required profile

• Proven practical welding experience (MIG, TIG, stick/arc) on metals used in drilling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Experience in equipment repair and maintenance in mining, construction or heavy‑industrial settings.
• Relevant vocational training or certification in welding or metal fabrication.
• Physical capability to work outdoors, stand for long periods and lift moderate loads.
• Attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work independently or within a diverse team.
