Airport Manager – Accra

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking an experienced Airport Manager to lead its operations at Accra International Airport. The role involves overseeing passenger and aircraft handling, ensuring safety, security, and service standards are met while driving performance and revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all passenger and aircraft handling activities on a shift basis, adhering to checklists, brand standards, company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in daily operations, including weekend and public‑holiday shifts, to maintain seamless airport functionality.
• Manage safety and security outcomes through promotion, hazard identification, risk assessment, monitoring and reporting.
• Coordinate VIP, MAAS, PRM and other special guest requirements, including flight editing and planning.
• Develop, rehearse and execute emergency response, disruption, diversion and business continuity plans.
• Monitor on‑time performance, report delays and implement mitigation actions.
• Drive ancillary sales, promotional activities and compliance with related processes.
• Oversee customer‑service standards, KPI reporting and act as the Local Security Contact Officer.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent industry experience.
• 7–9 years of senior leadership or management experience in airport or airline operations.
• Proven ability to lead multicultural teams in a high‑pressure, shift‑based environment.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
• Previous regional or international exposure is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of airport safety and security regulations.
• Experience with emergency response and business continuity planning.
• Familiarity with VIP/MAAS and PRM handling procedures.
