Cashier – Payroll & Petty Cash Management

About the role

The Cashier will provide dedicated financial support to multiple departments by maintaining strict control over liquid assets and ensuring accurate, timely disbursement of employee compensation. This position is essential for preserving cash integrity and supporting staff morale through reliable payment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Direct handling and reconciliation of all petty cash transactions to achieve zero discrepancies.
• Review and verify receipts and invoices before disbursing funds, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
• Process and pay staff salaries according to established schedules.
• Facilitate punctual compensation payments for all department staff.
• Maintain confidential, organized payroll records for audit and reporting purposes.
• Provide regular cash‑flow and spending reports to the Department Manager.
• Maintain basic computer‑based records of all financial transactions.
• Address staff queries regarding salary payments or petty‑cash reimbursements using strong communication skills.

Required profile

• HND or Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
• 3 to 4 years of direct experience in a cashier or closely related financial role.
• High level of numeracy and mathematical accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Required skills

• Computer skills for financial data entry.
