Program Officer – Extractive Industries (Ghana)

About the role
The Program Officer will support Oxfam America’s West Africa Regional Office in implementing the Extractive Industries program across Ghana, Senegal and Mali. Working under the Regional Program Coordinator, the role combines programme implementation, grant‑making and policy advocacy.
Key responsibilities
- Review and develop strategic papers and annual work plans for the Extractive Industries program.
- Assess and manage grant proposals from partners in Ghana, Senegal, Mali and Burkina Faso.
- Provide policy analysis and support advocacy planning on extractive sector reforms.
- Monitor project implementation, conduct evaluations and organise partner working group meetings.
- Represent Oxfam in sector forums and engage with ministries, media and civil society.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Law.
- Minimum 5 years experience in extractive resources, community engagement or civil‑society advocacy in West Africa.
- Proven experience in partnership building, grant management and programme development.
- Fluent in English and French.
