Project Manager – BRIGHT Shea

About the role

The Project Manager will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Building Resilient and Inclusive Growth in Shea Value Chains (BRIGHT Shea) project in Northern Ghana. Based in Tamale, the role oversees planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and delivery of activities that strengthen shea value chains for women producers and youth entrepreneurs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical, budget, monitoring and reporting activities throughout the project cycle, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and CRS quality standards.
• Supervise and develop project staff, manage performance, and promote staff wellbeing.
• Coordinate learning, evaluation and MEAL processes, and proactively identify issues for adaptive management.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, private sector buyers, financial institutions, development partners, traditional authorities and community organisations.
• Implement the Market Systems Development (MSD) strategy to improve aggregation, post‑harvest management, value addition, market access, financial inclusion and sustainable natural resource management.
• Prepare trend analysis reports and disseminate findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing development projects, preferably in agricultural value chains.
• Strong knowledge of market systems development approaches and shea value chain dynamics.
• Experience working with women and youth beneficiaries and managing multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Ability to travel frequently across project communities in Northern Ghana.
