Director, Research and Consultancy

About the role

The Ghana Technology University College seeks a senior academic leader to head its Research and Consultancy unit. The role will shape the university’s research agenda, secure funding, and build strategic partnerships with national and international institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy aligned with the university’s mission.
• Identify, prepare, and submit grant proposals to public and private funding bodies worldwide.
• Manage awarded grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
• Foster collaborations with academic, industry, and research partners across Ghana and abroad.
• Oversee the consultancy portfolio, ensuring high‑quality delivery to external clients.
• Lead and mentor research staff, promoting scholarly output and professional development.

Required profile

• PhD with a distinguished record of academic leadership.
• Minimum five years of experience in a tertiary institution, including at least three years in a senior leadership role such as Faculty Dean or Head of Department.
• Proven ability to secure national and international research funding.
• Scholarly credentials that qualify for a senior lecturer appointment.
• Extensive network of contacts within academic and research communities.

Required skills

• Expertise in grant proposal development and submission.
• Strong budget management and financial reporting capabilities.
• Familiarity with grant‑management software and related digital tools.
