Offshore Structural Engineer (FPSO, Ghana)

About the role

RINA is looking for an experienced Offshore Structural Engineer to support a major offshore Oil & Gas development based in Accra, Ghana. The role focuses on reviewing and following up structural engineering activities for FPSO topside modules, existing FPSO structures, subsea structures, risers and sealines, covering detailed engineering as well as construction and offshore installation phases. The position is based at the project premises in Accra, with the possibility of short business trips outside the country.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and review structural analyses, engineering calculations and technical assessments for offshore structures, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Review structural deliverables prepared by contractors, including drawings, calculations, design reports and technical documentation, and ensure appropriate technical corrections.
• Follow up the structural design of new FPSO topside modules and modifications to existing FPSO structures, including connections, deck reinforcements and hull-topside interaction.
• Support subsea structures, including PLEMs, PLETs and manifolds, and associated risers and sealines.
• Review structural aspects of temporary and installation phases, including load-out, transportation and lifting.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with EPC, SPS and Transportation & Installation contractors and with other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with international offshore structural standards such as API, AISC, DNV, ISO and Classification Society requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Structural, Naval or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in offshore Oil & Gas developments.
• Proven experience in detailed engineering of offshore structures, including installation and temporary phases.
• Previous onshore and offshore field engineering experience is highly valued.

Required skills

• Strong background in structural analysis and calculation for offshore and/or subsea structures.
• Solid knowledge of offshore structural codes such as API, AISC, DNV and ISO.
• Ability to independently review, challenge and validate contractor engineering deliverables.
