Safety Manager

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Safety Manager to lead health and safety operations at our manufacturing facility. You will develop policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and nurture a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve safety management systems in line with national regulations and company policies.
• Lead safety training programs to raise employee awareness and emergency preparedness.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian occupational health and safety laws and international HSE standards.
• Manage procurement, inspection and maintenance of safety equipment.
• Provide regular safety performance reports to senior management.
• Collaborate with department heads to integrate safety measures into daily operations.
• Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 8 years of safety management experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, hazard identification and accident prevention.
• Proven experience in safety audits, compliance reporting and regulatory liaison.
