Superintendent Construction – Electrical

About the role

The Superintendent Construction – Electrical will lead on‑site construction and off‑site design activities for Newmont’s Ahafo mining operations. This senior position ensures that all electrical engineering work aligns with project plans, safety and quality standards, and is delivered on schedule to support successful project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight to the EPCM consultant on electrical engineering design and ensure compliance with Newmont standards.
• Ensure construction activities meet health, safety, and environmental regulations; conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Develop and manage project estimates, budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, and project team members to deliver work safely and efficiently.
• Participate in risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses, pre‑start meetings, and report hazards, incidents, and environmental concerns.
• Review and maintain quality control plans and reports throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in electrical engineering within large‑scale construction or mining projects.
• Proven ability to lead EPCM consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to mining operations.
• Demonstrated competence in budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder coordination and reporting.
