Business Development Manager - Pharmaceuticals

About the role

The Business Development Manager will focus on identifying, developing and converting institutional and other high‑value commercial opportunities, primarily across Kumasi and surrounding markets. The role involves building relationships with hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and other key accounts to drive growth.

Key responsibilities

• Institutional account development.
• Stakeholder mapping and relationship development.
• Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities.
• Developing and managing commercial pipelines.
• Proposal development and negotiation.
• Commercial follow‑through and new‑business conversion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Pharmacy, Healthcare Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales or commercial management, preferably within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, medical or FMCG sectors.
• Proven experience in institutional account development and new business acquisition.
• Strong experience engaging hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, procurement teams, distributors and corporate organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities.
• Strong skills in stakeholder mapping, relationship management, negotiation and proposal development.
• Proven ability to develop and manage a sales/business development pipeline and achieve commercial targets.
• Strong understanding of the Kumasi market and surrounding areas is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation, persuasion and influencing skills.
