Cashier

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Cashier to join our Food & Beverage team at Marriott International in Accra. The role involves handling all guest payments, maintaining cash controls and delivering excellent service in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process all payment methods in line with accounting procedures and property cash‑handling standards.
• Perform blind drops, count and secure the bank at the end of each shift, and transport cash to the designated workstation.
• Set up and maintain a clean, fully stocked cashier workstation, including required forms and supplies.
• Complete opening duties, ensure all equipment is operational, and adhere to safety and security policies.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their service needs, answer telephone calls with professional etiquette, and resolve any payment discrepancies.
• Record transactions using the point‑of‑sale (POS) system and generate required cashier reports.
• Assist supervisors with additional reasonable tasks as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior cash‑handling or hospitality experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb.
• Professional appearance and commitment to confidentiality and asset protection.

Required skills

• Operation of point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
