Caterpillar Mechanic – Service Department

About the role

Mantrac Ghana Limited is seeking motivated Caterpillar Mechanics to join its service department. The role involves maintaining and repairing Caterpillar earth‑moving and construction equipment across Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on maintenance, diagnostics and repair on Caterpillar earth‑moving and construction machinery.
• Interpret and apply technical literature, service manuals and schematics.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical systems to resolve equipment failures.
• Provide field service support, including on‑site assistance when required.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, to meet service demands.

Required profile

• Minimum Motor Vehicle Technician Part 2 (MVT 2) certification.
• At least 3 years of post‑qualification experience with earth‑moving heavy equipment and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel anywhere within Ghana and work long hours when needed.

Required skills

• Motor Vehicle Technician Part 2 (MVT 2) certification.
• Experience with earth‑moving heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar field service practices (advantage).
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
