Company Secretary & Legal Advisor (Accra)

About the role

ASA Savings and Loans Ltd, a leading financial institution serving over 200,000 clients across Ghana, is seeking a qualified professional to act as both Company Secretary and Legal Advisor. The role combines corporate governance oversight with legal support to ensure compliance and protect the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare relevant documents and organise Board of Directors (BoD) meetings and Annual General Meetings (AGM).
• Advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory environment and take appropriate action.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between the company, its stakeholders and shareholders.
• Provide legal advice and respond to legal correspondence.
• Draft, review and amend contractual instruments to support business activities.
• Develop, review and maintain policies and procedures for smooth execution of activities.
• Represent the company in legal and contractual obligations as needed.
• Prepare and submit reports and documents to the Board of Governors, Regional Directors and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer recognised by the Ghana Bar Association.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within a reputable financial institution.
• Strong computing, secretarial, interpersonal, teamwork and written/verbal communication abilities.
