Digital Education and AI-Enabled Teaching and Learning Companion Programme Support

About the role

The consultant will provide expert technical assistance for UNICEF’s Digital Education and AI‑Enabled Teaching and Learning Companion Programme in Ghana. The role spans five interrelated workstreams, including programme management, technical coordination of AI teacher companions, teacher professional development, monitoring and research, and system strengthening for scale‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Lead programme management, coordination and technical oversight across multiple workstreams.
• Support the configuration, adaptation and deployment of AI tools such as Google Gemini for education use cases.
• Coordinate teacher professional development activities, including blended learning and digital pedagogy.
• Oversee programme monitoring, learning and research, ensuring data‑driven decision making.
• Strengthen systems, engage government partners, and plan communications and scale‑up strategies.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Education, Digital Education, Educational Technology, AI in Education, Instructional Design, Data Science, Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Public Policy or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in digital education, education technology, teacher professional development, or AI‑enabled learning solutions.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder education programmes involving governments, development partners and technology providers.
• Demonstrated experience supporting design, implementation or scale‑up of AI‑enabled education interventions.
