Director of Allied Health

About the role

This role provides leadership, strategic direction, coordination, supervision and expert professional advice on Allied Health Services to the management of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. It also oversees research and training of specialist and postgraduate Allied Health professionals in partnership with recognised institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide the development of short‑, medium‑ and long‑term plans and budgets for Allied Health Services.
• Develop and implement systems to ensure compliance with Allied Health governance and infection‑control standards.
• Support, monitor and evaluate programmes that enhance clinical‑care effectiveness.
• Lead the design, implementation and management of clinical information systems.
• Supervise technical support for Allied Health activities and monitor implementation partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Allied Health Science (or related field) from a recognised university and registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Ghana.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an Allied Health professional, including at least 5 years in a senior management role (Deputy Chief/Deputy Director grade).
• Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving, advocacy and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑player skills, with the capacity to work independently under pressure.

Required skills

• Report writing proficiency.
• Computer literacy (including use of clinical information systems).
