Employee Relations Manager – HR (Industrial)

About the role
The Employee Relations Manager will lead HR initiatives that enhance workplace conditions, manage union negotiations, and ensure compliance with Ghanaian labour laws. This senior HR professional will drive strategies to boost employee satisfaction, retention, and overall organisational success within a leading ceramics manufacturing company.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies focused on employee relations and improving working conditions.
- Handle trade‑union negotiations, address grievances, and mediate disputes to maintain industrial harmony.
- Assess employee feedback, reduce turnover, and improve satisfaction and retention.
- Prepare detailed reports on turnover causes and propose actionable solutions.
- Establish clear communication frameworks between staff and management to foster transparency.
- Analyze feedback trends to identify opportunities for engagement improvement.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations to mitigate legal risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employees and management, resolving conflicts and enhancing workplace harmony.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HR managerial role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Proven expertise in employee relations, union negotiations, and resolving labour disputes.
- Experience managing workforce dynamics and driving employee retention strategies.
Required skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage complex HR issues and foster a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of labour law and HR compliance.
- Proven capability to mediate and resolve industrial disputes and grievances.
- Analytical skills to assess HR trends and generate reports.
