In-Room Dining Order Taker (Local Hire)

About the role

The In‑Room Dining Order Taker is responsible for receiving guest orders via telephone, accurately entering them into the POS system, and ensuring smooth communication with the service and kitchen teams. This role supports the Food & Beverage department of a hotel in Accra, delivering courteous and efficient room‑service experiences that meet Kempinski standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with wait staff and minibar attendants to fulfill guest orders.
• Take orders by telephone, post them correctly in the POS system, and relay information to service and kitchen.
• Maintain punctuality, wear the correct uniform, and uphold grooming standards.
• Provide courteous, professional service at all times and handle guest enquiries and complaints promptly.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of menu items, upsell where appropriate, and suggest alternatives.
• Monitor supplies, reduce waste, and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Execute opening and closing procedures for the outlet.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and inventory checks.
• Adhere to hotel policies on fire safety, hygiene, health, and overall conduct.
