Mine Maintenance Service Person

About the role

Provide semi‑skilled assistance for daily lubrication, fueling and inspection of heavy mining and auxiliary equipment, ensuring high equipment health and supporting effective maintenance engineering at Newmont’s Ahafo South mine in Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily servicing of heavy mining and auxiliary equipment, including oil checks, oil changes, and transmission fluid replacements.
• Distribute fuel to mining equipment according to schedule and maintain accurate service, fuel and lube records.
• Conduct routine inspections, pressure/temperature checks, greasing of bearings and joints, and report defects to dispatchers and supervisors.
• Ensure service trucks and lube equipment are clean and in good condition, and adhere to safety procedures and daily safety meetings.
• Comply with Newmont and regulatory health, safety, loss prevention and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Senior High School Certificate or Mechanical Technician Certificate.
• Minimum of 1 year mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
• Basic communication skills in English (written and verbal) and ability to read documentation.
• Ability to build positive relationships with peers and supervisors.
• Manual dexterity, safety consciousness, self‑motivation and team orientation.
