Plant and Equipment Manager

About the role

The Plant and Equipment Manager will translate corporate strategy into clear priorities for plant, fleet, workshop, stores and fuel operations across Accra and Tema. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a high‑performing team, ensure asset reliability, and drive cost‑effective maintenance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and service standards for the Plant and Equipment function.
• Lead regular readiness, maintenance, cost and risk reviews with responsible managers.
• Maintain a comprehensive fleet strategy covering capacity, asset mix, ownership, hire, replacement, refurbishment, standardisation and disposal.
• Forecast plant and vehicle demand with Operations and project teams and prepare business cases using utilisation, reliability and life‑cycle cost data.
• Allocate serviceable plant, vehicles and operators across projects, maintaining deployment schedules and real‑time visibility of location, status and utilisation.
• Establish manufacturer‑aligned preventive maintenance, inspection and component‑replacement schedules for all assets.
• Plan labour, bays, tools, parts and downtime to maximise planned work and minimise emergency breakdowns.
• Direct the Workshop Manager, set repair standards, productivity targets and quality checks, and ensure all workshop equipment is inspected and calibrated.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience in plant and equipment management.
• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage large asset portfolios.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills, with experience preparing business cases and capital recommendations.
