Project Engineer – Expatriate

About the role

MCL Ghana is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead complex construction and engineering projects across the country. The role involves technical leadership and project management throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee execution of complex construction and engineering projects.
• Develop and monitor schedules, budgets, work plans and resource requirements.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, engineers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, ensure compliance with designs, specifications, budgets and timelines.
• Identify risks and technical challenges and implement corrective measures.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements and project documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical and construction issues.
• Prepare project reports, progress updates and other documentation.
• Ensure adherence to construction standards, health & safety and quality requirements.
• Support cost control, procurement, variations and contractor performance management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related field.
• Professional project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience delivering complex construction or engineering projects.
• Strong background in project scheduling, cost control and quality management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.
