Security Site Manager – Mining Operations

About the role

The Security Site Manager will lead all security activities at the Golden Star (Wassa) Mine, ensuring a safe environment for personnel, assets and operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager in Accra, the role combines hands‑on supervision with strategic compliance and stakeholder liaison.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all security operations on‑site, overseeing manned guarding and electronic systems.
• Supervise, motivate and schedule security personnel, handling discipline, welfare and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with client security procedures, company policies and Ghanaian regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments and security audits.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports for the Operations Manager.
• Investigate incidents, produce detailed incident reports and coordinate with law‑enforcement agencies.
• Liaise with the client, local authorities and other stakeholders to maintain strong relationships.
• Plan and deliver ongoing training and professional development for site security staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
• Previous service in the Ghana Armed Forces or Ghana Police Service (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in security, preferably within mining, industrial or corporate environments.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven report‑writing and incident‑management skills.
• Knowledge of security operations, risk management and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
