Applied AI Engineer

About the role

Zof AI is looking for an Applied AI Engineer to create and ship AI‑driven product features in Accra, Ghana. You will work on the model‑facing layer of our products, turning cutting‑edge LLM APIs into reliable, production‑ready services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement product features built on frontier model APIs.
• Develop, tune, and maintain end‑to‑end retrieval and RAG pipelines.
• Create agent planning, tool use, and multi‑agent orchestration frameworks.
• Own prompt and context engineering as a tested, repeatable practice.
• Integrate evaluation harnesses into the development loop to measure quality.
• Optimize AI features for cost, latency, and performance in production.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver reliable releases quickly.

Required profile

• Proven experience shipping LLM‑powered features to real users.
• Strong software engineering foundation.
• Working knowledge of retrieval, RAG, and agent patterns.
• Good judgment on quality, cost, and latency trade‑offs.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Comfort operating in a fast‑moving environment.
• Evidence of high‑quality technical work.
